About Attitash Bear Peak Ski Area
Attitash Bear Peak ski area has been named the best skiing in New Hampshire. Ski magazine has named it one of the East’s top ten ski resorts for snow quality, grooming and weather. With one trip to this resort, it is clear to see why it is among the best. The resort is located in Bartlett, New Hampshire which is close to both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Attitash Bear Peak ski area has two separate mountains. Attitash offers old New England style trails while Bear Peak has a more challenging mix. The ski season runs from November through April depending on conditions.
Attitash has a vertical drop of 1750 feet while Bear Peak’s vertical drop is 1450 feet. They both have a base elevation of 600 feet. The summit elevation of Attitash is 2350 feet and Bear Peak’s elevation at the summit is 2050 feet.
Attitash Bear Peak has 78 trails and glades spawning over a total of 310 skiable acres. It has 11 chairlifts with 3 being quads, 3 being triples, 3 being doubles and 2 being surface lifts.
Attitash Bear Peak is home to the region’s most powerful snowmaking machines. They recently made a $2.5 million upgrade on their system. They average 155 inches of snow annually but always make more to guarantee a great experience.
Ski Tuning and Repair
If, while you are at Attitash Bear Peak, your equipment breaks or becomes damaged, don’t worry since there is a complete ski and snowboard repair and tuning center at the base lodge. The center features the high-tech Montana Crystal Glide finish.
In addition, there is the Adventure Center Rental Shop that has ski and snowboard packages for juniors and seniors, packages for adults and poles and helmets that can be rented.
There are numerous choices for ski lessons at Attitash Bear Peak. Lessons are given to skiers from beginner to advanced. Some choices for lessons include:
- Private clinics providing personalized, one-on-one coaching for all ages.
- Semi-private clinics that have coaching for up to two people of all ages.
- Group clinics with personalized coaching with a group that is 13 and older
- Tiny Turns offers private lessons for children ages three through five.
For those who are six months to six years of age, Attitash Day Care is open and filled with fun activities to keep the little ones occupied while the parents enjoy a day out on the mountain. In addition, there is Buddy Bear Kids Program open to four through six year olds. This program can be a full or half day and gets kids ready for a day of skiing.
